Non-Discrimination Policy Statement
WICHP is an equal opportunity non-profit organization and shall not discriminate as to race, creed, religion, color, gender, gender identity/expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, political belief, age [40 or older], physical or mental disability, marital status, pregnancy, medical condition, genetic information (family medical history) sexual orientation, or [military] status regarding public assistance in any practice including, but not limited to, practices relating to providing services, volunteer recruitment, employment, training, promotion and the termination of personnel and volunteers. Washington Island Community Health Program will comply with all applicable laws governing equal opportunity employment and affirmative action. WICHP shall provide reasonable accommodations, on a case-by-case basis, to individuals who require such accommodations for medical or religious reasons, as required by law.
Non-Harassment Policy Statement
In providing public assistance services, it is the policy of WICHP that harassment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, disability, age (40 or older) or genetic information (including family medical history) is illegal and will not be tolerated. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, name-calling or epithets, offensive jokes, slurs, threats or physical attacks, displeasing photos or objects, or interference with individuals’ ability to execute their tasks. Reports of discrimination or harassment by WICHP Board members, volunteers or administrative staff shall receive a prompt, thorough and impartial investigation by an ad hoc committee of non-WICHP members, formulated for the purpose of conducting such an investigation. WICHP shall accept the outcome of such investigation and take such corrective action as is recommended by the impartial ad hoc committee.
